A Teacher Who Fits the Way You Want to Learn

Founded by Joanne Parker in 1982, the Academy is still family-run. Her son Sean grew up here as a student, now runs the school, and still teaches, so the people making decisions about your lessons are in the classrooms every week.
One in three of our teachers started here as students. They learned the Academy Method in these rooms before they taught it.
- The same teacher, day and time, every week. Someone who knows what you are working on and where you want to get to.
- You meet a teacher before you enrol. The trial lesson is a real lesson with one of our teachers, and if the fit is not right we will find someone who suits you better.
- Trained, not just talented. Every teacher comes in at a high level on their instrument, RCM Level 8 or the top of the Academy Method, then goes through extensive training with our Teaching Manager, passes a written pedagogy exam and shadows a senior teacher before taking on students.
- A whole team behind them. Every teacher can see your lesson notes, so a makeup lesson with another teacher picks up right where you left off.
Simple Pricing. No Long-Term Contract.

per 30-minute weekly lesson, billed monthly, with a one-time $39 registration fee
Most four-lesson months are $144; months with five scheduled lessons are $180.
- No long-term contract. Tuition continues month to month. Cancel by the 15th to stop the next month’s tuition.
- Unlimited reschedules with only six hours’ notice. Work runs late, a kid gets sick: the lesson is banked and can be rebooked within 60 days.
- Lessons six days a week, so there is a time that fits around work and family.
- Nothing to buy up front. One month of free instrument rental with registration, then $20 per month for a guitar or keyboard and $40 for a drum kit, with a $50 refundable deposit.
